ISSP and Cyber Academy, in partnership with the Association of Ukrainian Banks (AUB), hosted a webinar that brought together around 80 representatives from Ukrainian banks. The event’s core objective was to showcase integrated cybersecurity solutions developed by ISSP and its partners to help banks enhance their cyber resilience. Experts discussed evolving cyber threats, regulatory challenges, and practical pathways toward strengthening digital resilience in the financial sector.

Regulatory Requirements and Cyber Resilience for Banks

ree

Roman Sologub, CEO of ISSP, provided an overview of current regulatory changes in the cybersecurity domain. He highlighted international standards such as ISO 27001 and ISO 27701, along with key European directives — GDPR, DORA, PSD2, and NIS2 — and how they align with the requirements of the National Bank of Ukraine.Cybersecurity today starts with resilience — a baseline requirement under modern European regulatory frameworks.

Mr. Sologub also introduced a practical model for implementing digital operational resilience and presented a set of ISSP service offerings for banks, including:

  • Strategic Advisory and Security Plan Implementation – comprehensive guidance for achieving compliance with security requirements

  • Security Posture Management – a proactive service package for preventive cybersecurity measures

  • Readiness & Preparedness – a resilience-focused solution for assessing and enhancing organizational readiness

  • Managed Detection & Response (MDR) and SOC Automation Platform – ISSP’s technologies for security operations monitoring and automation

Cybersecurity Skills and Professional Development

ree

Yurii Samokhvalov, Senior Expert at ISSP Training Center, focused on the importance of workforce development in cybersecurity. He presented corporate training tools and solutions tailored for the banking sector, including:

  • industry certification and proprietary training courses for all levels

  • cyber hygiene awareness programs for general staff

  • cyber ranges and simulation-based exercises for incident response skills

  • comprehensive digital training programs specifically designed for banks

According to Samokhvalov, building human capacity is a long-term investment in a bank’s cybersecurity, directly improving its defense posture against cyberattacks.

Security Culture and Interbank Cooperation

ree

Valerii Tsyupa, CEO of the International Cyber Academy, shared insights into developing a cybersecurity culture within financial institutions. He presented practical examples of table-top exercises (TTX) for critical infrastructure, and highlighted the implementation of interactive GDPR and cyber hygiene training programs for large groups of personnel in both public and corporate sectors. Tsyupa also emphasized the strategic value of interbank collaboration in cyber resilience — joint exercises and experience sharing empower financial institutions to better counter modern threats and foster international partnerships.

A Holistic Approach to Cyber Resilience

ree

The webinar underscored that cyber resilience begins with a comprehensive approach — combining technology, regulation, training, and culture. Collaboration and knowledge exchange serve as key drivers of resilience, especially as banks work to meet rising regulatory expectations.

ISSP and Cyber Academy invite Ukrainian banks to collaborate in implementing modern cybersecurity solutions, enhancing protection against cyber threats, and aligning operations with European standards.
